What is an e-Invoice?
An e-Invoice is a digital record of a transaction between a supplier and a buyer that replaces paper or electronic documents such as invoices, credit notes, and debit notes, and contains all relevant data fields required by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM).
How do I request an e-Invoice for my purchase?
If you were a registered account holder at the time of purchase, you can request a copy of the e-Invoice for eligible purchases by contacting Customer Support.
Have the transaction ID of the purchase ready before contacting Customer Support. To find the transaction ID, log in to the account and go to Transaction History.
When can an e-Invoice be requested for my purchase? Is there a timeline?
An e-Invoice must be requested within the same month as the transaction. For example, if a purchase was made on 1 January 2026 or 29 January 2026, the latest an e-Invoice can be requested is 31 January 2026 (Malaysia time zone).
Requests submitted after the end of the transaction month will not be accepted.
What if the request for an e-Invoice is not made within the timeframe given?
If the request is not made within the specified timeframe, an e-Invoice can no longer be requested for that transaction.
How do I get my Tax Identification Number (TIN)?
The TIN can be retrieved from the MyTax portal after logging in.
I don't want to share my ID and TIN. Can I still request an e-Invoice?
Both ID and TIN must be provided. The IRBM system only validates an e-Invoice when both are provided.
Where can I find the e-Invoice?
Once IRBM validates the e-Invoice, it's sent to the email address provided in the submission form. The e-Invoice is sent only once to that email address.
When can I expect to receive the e-Invoice?
The e-Invoice is sent by email by the end of the month following the one in which the request was submitted. For example, if a request is submitted in January 2026, the e-Invoice will be sent no later than the end of February 2026.
What if I accidentally enter the wrong personal information?
If incorrect personal information is entered and the request is rejected by IRBM, an e-Invoice can no longer be requested for that transaction. Verify all details carefully before submitting personal information.
Can I request another e-Invoice if the previous request was rejected?
No. An e-Invoice request can only be submitted once per transaction ID. If the initial request is rejected, another request cannot be submitted for the same transaction.
